Abacos

Let us introduce you to one of our favourite destinations in the Bahamas, the tropical paradise island of Abacos.

With a year-round climate similar to Florida, miles of endless beaches and the chance to explore these vibrant islands, both on shore and at sea, Abacos has it all. Combining the rich heritage of boat building, naturally protected waters and colonial villages, we think that Abacos is the 'cay' to the Bahamas!

Only a one-hour flight from Fort Lauderdale, and just five hours from New York and seven hours from Los Angeles, paradise is just a short flight away.

A truly once in a lifetime TradeWinds experience, be sure that you don't miss out. Book your perfect escape on one of our luxury Bahamian Abacos yacht charters.

Picture walking along an untouched, powdery white beach with swaying palms. Each sandy footstep you make is washed away by the gentle, warm and mesmerizing azure water as waves break on the shore. In the distance, nothing but a glorious ocean paradise waiting to be explored.

Considered one of the most perfect sailing areas, the Abacos has so much to offer those looking to take a step back and appreciate unspoilt, natural beauty. Set within the Bahamas archipelago, an ecological oasis that boasts 2,000 breathtaking islands and cays, Abacos is true sailors' paradise, steeped in both history and colorful folklore.

Take a swim in the clearest waters on the planet, or delight in an underwater exploration. Boasting the third largest barrier reef in the world, you can explore to your heart's content. Snorkel around the rich, shallow coral reefs, or scuba amongst wrecks, with the chance to see sharks, eagle rays and schools of fish. It comes as no surprise that sailing, fishing and diving are some of the more popular water sports on the island.

Abaconians are proud of their island, and the people are friendly and laid back. Explore the town and make new friends as you take in the quaint, colorful and colonial buildings.

Abacos consists of two main islands - Great Abaco and Little Abaco - which are accompanied by a smaller chain of islands, often referred to as "The Abacos". This group of islands gets its nickname of the "Friendly Islands", a name that it definitely lives up to.

The Abacos lie roughly 175 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida and 106 miles north of Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, making it the ideal location for some much needed R&R! Arrive into Treasure Cay airport, and this is where you will meet your crew to start your very own journey of discovery.

Book onto one of our luxury, all-inclusive Abacos yacht charters and learn the secret to the ultimate paradise getaway. The Bahamas look forward to welcoming you! Our Abacos yacht charter crew is looking forward to welcoming you aboard soon.

Sailing Highlight

One of our best sailing experience was off of Guana Cay heading up to Green Turtle. With full sails up and all the guest on the bow, a pod of dolphins accompanied us for 30 minutes....  swimming,  jumping and entertaining us. It's Betta in the Bahamas!

Diving Highlight

Sandy Cay Marine Reserve - Max Depth: 30ft - Sandy Cay  Marine Reserve is a divers paradise. We get in the water on a rising tide and follow the sea life in the most crystal clear waters.  There is a vibrant and pristine reef filled with many sea specimens  We swim with spotted eagle rays, reef sharks, turtles and schools of different varieties of fish, including parrot fish, angel fish, yellowtail snapper, doctor fish and Nassau grouper.

The guests on both boats enjoyed the scavenger hunt put on by V at Little Harbor.
