Here is sample itinerary of what you may expect while enjoying a sailing vacation with TradeWinds in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Weather or other outside factors may mean that your Captain sets an alternative course.

Arrival Day

Embarkation is at 5pm but you are welcome to check in and drop off your baggage when you arrive. Your catamaran is at the dock at Bequia Marina, Port Elizabeth, in beautiful Bequia. Upon arrival at our office in the Marina you will be greeted by our management team, who will go through the check-in procedure with you. At 5pm you will be greeted by your crew and taken onboard for a refreshing welcome cocktail and an introduction to your fellow sailors. At approximately 5.30, as the sun is setting, your yacht will set sail for the short hop to our overnight mooring in Admiralty Bay. Take your cocktail and find a comfy spot on the bow of the boat, catch the cool evening breeze on your face, and watch the glorious colours of the tropical sunset as the sun sinks into the ocean. Your holiday adventure has begun.

On arrival, your Captain will show you to your cabin and orient you with your new home for the week, then stow away any empty luggage bags. Sit back, enjoy a drink, and get to know your new shipmates as your Hostess prepares the first of your sumptuous Caribbean dinners. Good wine and good company will melt away the travel blues, and a comfy bed will leave you ready for a glorious week.

Cruising Day 1

Breakfast is served, followed by a safety briefing and a first look at the proposed itinerary for the week. Our first dive or snorkel of the week takes place right here, under the boat at Devils Table. Sea grass, coral fans and every sea creature you can imagine lives here, and have to be seen to be believed

Before you know it, the sails will be up and we will be off on our way to the first stop of the cruise: the windward island of Mustique, a unique privately owned island, developed for and inhabited by the rich and famous - including the British Royal family. If you want to participate in the handling of the yacht and sails you can do so but, if you prefer, just sit back and relax. It's all up to you.

When you arrive in Britannia Bay, Mustique your crew will serve lunch. Afterwards, jump into the crystal clear turquoise waters to cool off or venture a little further for some reef exploration before we head to the world famous Basils Bar for a cold beer or a sundowner cocktail. Spend an hour soaking up the atmosphere, watching the sun set and listening to some jazz music before heading back to your yacht for another wonderful Caribbean dinner.

Cruising Day 2

Following a scrumptious breakfast we sail downwind past the beautiful windward side of Canouan to the Tobago Cays, arguably the most beautiful area of the Caribbean. The sheer beauty of this place will make you never want to leave. The whole island group is a Marine National Park, and is completely protected by World's End reef and Horseshoe reef. For the novice, SCUBA trial dives can be arranged here through the local dive operator. We will spend the whole day in the Cays, snorkelling or diving, with excursions to several different islets, ending with another wonderful sunset followed by dinner onboard. In this location there is virtually no light pollution whatsoever, and your captain may invite all guests up on deck for a night-cap and an evening of the most amazing stargazing. Views of the Milky Way and shooting stars are highly likely.

Cruising Day 3

As the sun rises, before breakfast, the incredible turquoise waters, invite you for a swim with the turtles in their own feeding sanctuary, and eagle rays also play here to delight you before drifting back to the boat to find breakfast awaits you. Afterwards we make another short hop to Jamesby Island and, if conditions allow, your Captain may be able to take you to “Johnny Depp Island" - as it has become known, where the burning of the rum from Pirates of the Caribbean took place. Eventually we will head off to Clifton Harbour, on the southern tip of Union Island. Your yacht will dock at this little Caribbean village where a superb opportunity presents itself to step ashore and discover the quaint little market, art gallery and other delightful sights.

Later we set sail for the stunning private island of Petit St Vincent, the most southerly point of the Grenadines. On arrival, whilst the Captain nips ashore to book the best tables for your evening dinner, take a cooling swim, a snorkel through one of the many reefs, or explore further afield in the kayak, the choice is yours.

As the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail before stepping ashore to the beautiful setting of the PSV beach resort and our evening ashore together. Catch of the day, a glass of wine, the perfect end to another day in paradise.

Cruising Day 4

After breakfast we move the boat yet again to Mopion, the smallest island in the Grenadines, which has just one thatched umbrella ashore, is surrounded by the PSV reef, and is a MUST for your photo album. After lunch, swim to the shore and explore the reef.

Later we set sail for the stunning island of Union and Chatham Bay. The beach and the diving here are beautiful, and this will be the most southerly point of your trip to the Grenadines. Take a cooling swim, snorkel or dive through one of the many reefs, or explore further afield in the kayak - the choice is yours. As the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail before dinner in this beautiful setting. This is the perfect end to another day in paradise.

Cruising Day 5

Before breakfast we have a short sail to the island of Mayreau and Saline Bay.  Upon arrival a beautiful breakfast will be served. After breakfast, a trip ashore and a walk up the hill to the only village will enable you to see the oldest church in the Caribbean, and marvel at the views across the Marine Park behind; visit the one-room school house and say hello to the children of Mayreau. Visit the home and the Bob Marley shrine set up by one of the island's most colourful characters "Righteous Robert". Walk back down the hill on the other side to Saltwhistle Bay, a picture perfect beach and palm tree fringed bay which is the favorite of many of our repeat guests, to find your yacht has been moved to her new spot by your Captain.

After lunch take a stroll along the beach and visit one of the many souvenir kiosks or just swim off the back of the boat,  before returning aboard and hoisting the sails for a sunset cruise to the island of Canouan. Upon arrival, it's Captains Cocktails and another culinary delight.

Cruising Day 6

Following breakfast, we set sail back to Admiralty Bay on the island of Bequia. This is one of the favourite yachting ports of the Caribbean. You sail in from West Cay, where you can discover the fascinating architectural project "Moonhole". We drop anchor at Princess Margaret Beach, aptly named after the Princess herself (as she came here on her honeymoon on the Royal Yacht Britannia, many years ago). Some of the best dive and snorkel sites in the Grenadines await you here, as well as an abundance of history to browse ashore, and a picture perfect dream beach where you can relax before we make our way back to our home at the Bequia Marina. There to welcome you back, your base crew will have a guests' cocktail party organised, with local musicians on hand to entertain you. Evening dinner will be taken in The Yacht Club restaurant based at the Marina, where you can sway to the beat of a local reggae band and join in with the singing.

Departure Day

After a last tasty breakfast onboard, it is time to gather your belongings, as well as your wonderful memories of a week in this most beautiful location. Before exchanging fond farewells, your crew will arrange transport to the airport. You will already be planning your next cruise with TradeWinds.

If you get Sam and Zina, you're in for a treat! Smiles and drinks flow freely, food is superb, and service is only matched by the clean boat and magnificent Caribbean vibe!
